She is a dedicated self-storage manager who truly embodies what leadership, teamwork, and heart look like in action. Jo Lynn has been managing Mundy Street Self Storage for over three years, and her impact has been notable.
How Jo Lynn Became a Manager
Jo Lynn’s journey into self-storage management didn’t start with industry experience. She was searching for a position that could support the demanding schedule of the grandchildren she takes care of. When she came across an employment ad for a self-storage role, she applied without high expectations. What she did bring was grit, adaptability, and a strong work ethic, all of which made her an excellent fit for her position.
From day one, Jo Lynn found her stride thanks to the people around her. “I truly enjoy working with Mundy Street Self Storage because I have the best team,” she says. “People I can genuinely count on every day.” She credits the organization’s culture for its strength – specifically, knowledgeable teammates, constant support, and a sense of unity that doesn’t fade when things get tough. Through laughs, tears, and plenty of hard work, everyone shows up. She believes this is the direct result of strong leadership and a company that truly invests in its people.
January Manager of the Month’s Achievements
One of Jo Lynn’s proudest accomplishments has been her own professional growth and the opportunities she’s been given within the company. The support has allowed her to grow personally and to give back – especially when she has the opportunity to guide and support a new team member. Helping someone else learn, gain confidence, and succeed is both rewarding and impactful, and it’s something she takes great pride in.
Operational excellence matters deeply to Jo Lynn. She’s proud of completing every assigned project and maintaining a facility that’s clean, organized, and visually appealing. Under her care, the property operates at a high standard. She has helped the facility to confidently compete with much larger facilities in the area. It’s a reflection of her attention to detail, pride in ownership, and commitment to doing things the right way.
Outside of Work
Originally from the Wilkes-Barre area, Jo Lynn’s life outside of work centers around family. She is the proud parent of four children and soon-to-be nine grandchildren. She’s had the privilege of raising her two eldest grandchildren since birth, a role she describes as one of the most meaningful responsibilities of her life. Watching them grow into hardworking, driven young people who are active in school and sports fuels her motivation every single day.
Her home is often full of laughter, conversation, and activity. Along with her family, she has two beloved dogs: Darla, a joyful Golden Retriever, and Trixie, a tiny German Chocolate Yorkie weighing in at under a pound. When she’s not working or spending time with family, Jo Lynn enjoys coaching soccer and staying active in her community.
There are also a couple of fun facts most people don’t know about her. She’s genuinely terrified of heights and she has a playful sense of humor. A memorable trip to Connecticut revealed both, from white-knuckling it over a massive bridge to turning an elevator mishap into uncontrollable laughter. Those moments perfectly capture Jo Lynn’s personality: real, warm, and refreshingly human.
